Vietnam visa passport photo for Your Visa Application

One of the vital areas in preparing for your visa applications or passport is photos. A number of government agencies and travel agencies will inform you that you require passport sized phots. At some point, this can seem confusing since different countries have their different specification for photos. Vietnamese officers are generally no to stern about the photo details unlike the officers of other countries, however, it is still important that you have knowledge of the following Vietnam visa passport photo requirements:

General requirements:

Photo size:

– Visa photos: depends solely on your country of habitation and it can be 2 x 2 inches or 4 x 6 cm

– Passport size photos: strictly be 4 cm x 6 cm.

Here are some of the key Vietnam visa passport photo requirements:

1. Beard
You should only have a beard in the photo if you normally have one. If that’s not the case then it’s better if you’re clean-shaven. Like the 6 month requirement the key is for the photo to match up with your current appearance.

2. Headgear
Hats and scarfs are prohibited for your Vietnam visa photo. However, you can wear headgear if it’s part of your everyday religious attire. This is the only exception so make sure to avoid wearing hats and scarfs in your Vietnam visa photo.

3. Quantity
When you apply for your visa make sure you have 2 photos. It’s always better to have some spares just in case you need them. Emergency photos can be secured at the airport but they’ll be $2 each, which is a bit steep. Still, if you have an emergency it’s worth the price.

4. Glasses
You shouldn’t wear eyeglasses unless the eyes can be seen clearly. Make sure to avoid wearing sunglasses or tinted glasses. This will likely result in your application being rejected automatically. As a general rule it’s even better if you just avoid wearing glasses. The main benefit is it makes your entire face more visible, which is certainly a plus for visa photos.

5. Size
The photo must be 4cm x 6xm or 2 in. x 2 in. this is important because it’s a very strict requirement for visa photos. The requirement for a passport photo is only 4cm x 6cm photos are allowed. It’s important to know these requirements and meet them. In turn it will increase your chance of the application getting approved. That will be less likely if you don’t meet the photo requirements and especially the size.

6. Expression
It’s important to keep a neutral expression in the picture. There shouldn’t be smiling or frowning. This might seem like an odd requirement since smiles are usually common in pictures. However, in this case it’s important to maintain a neutral expression since it’s a requirement of the Vietnam government. You’ll certainly want to avoid possible issues so it’s critical to keep this requirement to avoid any possible issues.

7. Background
The background should be solid and bright. It’s better if the background is white or a neutral color like cream or light grey. Make sure it doesn’t include any colors. The reason is it could affect the contrast between the background and the subject. 8. Color
The photo also can’t be black & white or include image filters. The photos can only be based color red green blue (RGB) photos. This is important so make sure you meet these basic requirements. Image filters have become quite common today but they’re not allowed in the case of photos for Vietnam visa photos. That’s why it’s critical to make sure you meet this requirement.
